Research-led thought leadership
Build the evidence behind a point of view worth hearing.
You have an important question about your market, customers or category—but not yet enough original evidence to answer it with authority.
I help you define what is worth learning, generate focused qualitative evidence and turn that understanding into a distinctive argument, flagship report and wider thought-leadership programme.
Who it is for
When borrowed evidence is no longer enough
This work is for B2B organisations that want to lead a useful market conversation, but cannot yet support their position with sufficient original evidence.
- You have a strong hypothesis but need to test it with practitioners or customers.
- Your category relies on familiar claims that competitors can make just as easily.
- Your executives have valuable questions and experience, but no shared evidence base.
- You want a report that begins with genuine learning rather than a predetermined campaign message.
- You need one coherent argument that can support content, conversations and decisions over time.
The engagement
From knowledge gap to usable point of view
Define the questionClarify what the organisation needs to understand, what it already knows and which assumptions need testing.
Design the enquirySet the participant profile, discussion guide, evidence framework and practical research scope.
Generate evidenceGather original qualitative evidence through practitioner, customer, executive or stakeholder interviews and structured conversations.
Synthesise the findingsIdentify patterns, tensions, exceptions and knowledge gaps rather than selecting quotations to fit a pre-agreed claim.
Develop the argumentTurn the evidence into a clear, defensible interpretation with supporting claims and appropriate qualifications.
Activate and learnBuild the flagship output and a plan for extending, testing and improving the thinking through future content and conversations.
What you leave with
Understanding first. Content second.
Structured findings, themes, tensions and useful participant evidence.
A central point of view grounded in what the enquiry genuinely revealed.
A credible editorial expression of the evidence and its implications.
A practical architecture for articles, executive content, events, video and distribution.
A clear account of what remains uncertain and worth investigating next.
A way to capture response, add new evidence and strengthen the position over time.
The distinction
This is an Editorial Intelligence engagement—not standalone market research.
Research is one capability within the wider methodology. The objective is not to deliver a dataset and leave. It is to understand what the evidence means, develop the organisation's point of view and create a system through which that understanding can influence its market and its own decisions.
The scope is qualitative and editorial. Where a project requires large-scale polling, statistical validation or specialist market-research operations, I would work with an appropriate research partner rather than overstate the offer.
Start with the question
What does your organisation need to understand before it has earned the right to make the argument?
Tell me the question, what evidence you already have and what still feels uncertain. I will help you decide whether a research-led thought-leadership engagement is the right next step.
