What a workflow is
A workflow is a documented approach to a recurring editorial task.

Good workflows capture three things:
The inputs — what signals, briefs, evidence or context the workflow needs to start from.
The process — the steps, decisions and judgement calls that turn inputs into outputs. Including where editorial judgement matters most, and what good looks like at each stage.
The outputs — what the workflow produces, in what form, and how it connects to the next stage of the Editorial Intelligence cycle.
